Mitzu- Macquarie Centre

Mitzu Sushi- Macquarie Centre
All group members today were hungry so we all came to the agreement of eating sushi, being in Macquarie University we thought we would give Mitzu, in Macquarie Centre a try.  Compared to other shopping centre sushi trains, the layout of the restaurant was nice and organised.

When we attended we were addressed by a waiter which gave us a table on the sushi train.
Alexy ordered a plate of tempura prawn and a plate of salmon, avocado and prawn sushi. Both dishes were average , I do however like how all the sushi were tightly rolled and unless they were too big to fit in a mouthful, did not tend to fall apart.

We will make sure we come here again, as the location is convenient because it is near Macquarie University and the sushi is of great quality.

Max Brenner Parramatta

Today I went to Max Brenner Parramatta to catch up with a friend.  We went to Max Brenner to have some dessert because it is a chocolate shop, at 159-175 Church Street, Parramatta.
The queue is always to the end of the shop, because it is a really popular chocolate shop. So when we got there we had to wait for 20 minutes in the line then we ordered our dessert. After receiving our table number you take a seat and wait for your order to arrive, in this case it only took our order 10 minutes.

Max Brenner is one of my favourite dessert places so when I got their I ordered the usual a Dark Whipped Chocolate Frappe at $7.60 and a Tutti – Frutti Waffle  which is two waffles served with ice cream and strawberries with melted chocolate on top at $18.50. The below picture was my order.
When you feel like chocolate Max Brenner is the place to be!

Oscillate Wildly in Newtown

I already recommended many Asian restaurants and foods, now I want to recommend a  modern australian style restaurant that names Oscillate Wildly. Oscillate Wildly locates at 275 Australia Street in Newtown. This restaurant is high-classed for me and the cost of this restaurant is expensive. Because 3 course for one persen need $48 without the wine choice. However, one of my friends come to there over three times, she said this restaurant is the best in sydney. Now I want to show some pictures of this restaurant.

Obviously, the envirnment of this restaurant is very good. If you want to talk with your friend in a quite but comfortable place or you want to have dinner with your spouse or girlfriend in a romantic place, this restaurant is a good choice for you.

This picture downloads from other's web sites. Because my friend didn't take pictures in this restaurant. She said, the menu of this restaurant would change, so if you come there again and again, you cac taste different foods. This is a reason for her like this restaurant. She also gave some advices for people who first go to there. She said, you can ask the waiter which main dish is good or special. The amount of these dishes are very small, so people need to order some sides, such as olive oil and vinegar in bread types.

This restaurant is small and the business of this one is very good.So if you want to come, please booking before 5 days or a week.

Nicks Seafood in Darling Harbour

Today I went to spend a beautiful day in Darling Harbour with a friend so we decided to have lunch in Nick’s Seafood Restaurant in Cockle Bay Wharf. The place looked busy but there were plenty of spare tables so we decided to eat here.

We ordered some wine and then ordered an entree and main orders. After a 20 minute wait our entree arrived which was some octopus and salmon sashimi. The entree was delicious and tasted fresh. Half an hour later our main had arrived we ordered a seafood platter for two. The waiter apologized for the time taken to make the main however the wait was worthwhile I guess as everything was amazingly cook and fresh.

The seafood platter consisted of freshly cooked Lobster, steamed mussels, fried calamari, king prawns, crab, oysters and avocado. The cost of this platter was $160 which I found reasonable as we were both so full after it.
I will be coming back to this restaurant the next time I’m in Darling Harbour as the seafood was great!

BBQ City Liverpool Street

BBQ City on Liverpool Street is a quite little Korea restaurant that specialises in Korea BBQ and Hot Pot. This restaurant is cheaper than other Korean restaurants, which is primarily what makes this place appealing. The menu is adequate, giving you all the traditional Korean dishes. The waitstaff are fast and attentive, however they primarily speak Korean.

Tonight was a cold windy night so it was decided that we should go somewhere that served hot food. BBQ is so convient and the restaurant is hardly crowded or noisy.

We started off with the complementary side dishes which tasted authentic. We then decided to order one hot pot and one chilli seafood dish. Both were made with fresh ingredients and made speedily.

Pros: Convenient, fast service, tasty meats, authentic menu
Cons: somewhat difficult to communicate with waitstaff, in a location with a lot of competition, restaurant is not well dressed
Price range: $4-$50, however each dish roughly costs $10 each and $30 for BBQ/Hot pot.

BBQ City is a cheaper alternative if you are craving korean late at night.

Crinitis Darling Harbour

After being through many Asian restaurants, being in a European restaurant made for a good change. One of the best talked about places is Crinitis, an italian restaurant at the heart of the city- Darling Harbour.

One's first impression was how friendly the atmosphere was. It is a restaurant with a bar. This is an upper-class italian restaurant. Expect to dress smart-casual when you come. The price range is a little dearer than your usual italian restaurant, however the food is made well.

The food is freshly made on the spot, and you can actually see the chef's creating your dish. One dish that I would like to mention is the pizza. We decided to share a one metre long pizza between all of us (which turns out to be about $20 each for 5 people).

If you order a metre long pizza, you're able to choose three flavours to add to your pizza.

I would especially like to mention that if you are having a birthday at Crinitis, make sure you share dishes, as they can be in the $50-100 range. Also, if you tell the owners that someone is celebrating their birthday, waiters will come to your table with a birthday cake and sing.

Many good things can be said about crinitis- the lively atmosphere, the design of the restaurant, the delicious food. However there are some shortcomings as well, for instance service is slow and the food is a little overpriced. But overall, crinitis is still an excellent place to visit at least once.

Stacks Taverna in Darling Harbour

Tonight I went with a group of friends for a get together, so we ended up at Stacks Taverna, which  is the Southern Building, Shop 24/25 Darling Quarter, 1-25 Harbour St Sydney. It is a unique venue,  which  has a sit back and relaxing atmosphere, including a funky cocktail bar and great food. It serves fresh Seafood to wide selection of aged Meat.

Stacks allows guests to interact with the cooking process by cooking your own steak. However I didn’t make my own steak instead I just ordered it for the chef to cook. I ordered garlic bread for the entrée and 300gm scotch fillet, medium cooked for the main which is my favourite. The steak was not served with salad so I ordered a Greek salad on the side.  The below picture was my meal.

The restaurant isn’t too expensive as the garlic bread was $5.00, my main meal was $33.00 and the greek salad was $8.00.Unfortunately, my steak wasn’t so great. The meat was a little too gristly and chewy, however I liked the red wine and spinach that came marinated with the steak. Also the service was great  and the staff was friendly and the atmosphere here is great at night with its both seating options, indoor and outdoor.

Furthermore I found it pretty cool of having the option of cooking your own steak and might try that the next time I come here!

W.D.Z restaurant in campsie

W.D.Z restaurant is the most famous chinese desserts restaurant in Sydney. the location of this restaurant is
108 Beamish St in Campsie. There are too much types of chinese desserts in this restaurant. I came to this one more than 10 times. Obviously, almost all the food in this restaurant I had try.
Then I post some pictures of this restaurant.

When you walked in you can find that inside the decor was actually quite cute and homelike. These balls hanging from the ceiling, only held there by string and sticky tape, the silhouettes of cherry blossoms, swallows, snowflakes that they obviously cut out of cardboard themselves (very talented!) and also the bansai trees scattered all along the side of the shop.
This one is 'Chestnut and taro sago with coconut milk' and the 'rainbow".The Chestnut and taro sago is the on pictured on top, quite nice hot. It was sufficiently sweet but no where near the 'Too Sweet' zone which i really liked. Sesame balls were good also, and the chestnuts were crushed so it was pretty cool to have the taro, sago and chestnut in a even quantities when you eat it.
The Rainbow (which wasn't very rainbow at all) had herbal jelly, glutinous rice balls, taro and coconut juice with ice shavings. This was a cold dessert, the ice shavings was quite fun to eat, and you could mix it up with all the things in the bowl.  Although I'm not a fan of the rice balls and these ones in particular tasted a lot more like flour, so that part was my least favorite.
There are too much types of "Rainbow" one , then i will show you all the types. You can choose the one you like and try it.

This one is "durian rainbow" which is good for some people who likes the drian. For me, this one is too  greasy. But some people also like it.
This one is "mango rainbow". I like this rainbow, because all element in this dish is traditional material for doing chinese desserts.  You can try it and give your own advice.

At last, this one is most famous rainbow," fruit rainbow". This one includes all seasonal fruits in it, So its good for people who likes the fruits.

                                        Waiting for your advice!

Aseana Food Village Randwick

After a study session at UNSW, my friends and I decided to drive somewhere nice to eat. My friends were Singaporean so naturally they suggested Aseana Food Village in Randwick, which serves Singaporean/Malaysian/Indonesian food.

My first impression was that it was a casual eating-place- a good place to bring lots of people to. The menu sounded delicious, however if you're not Singaporean, then it can be really difficult deciding. The menu unfortunately did not have many pictures, and the food itself sounded standard. If this is the case, then it's a good idea to ask your waiter for recommendations.

I personally had the chicken rice, which was basically just rice with chicken. However it tasted fantastic. There are so many food flavours in this restaurant. From spicy to sweet, from crunchy to soft.

One dish that I particularly enjoyed was in the dessert menu- Ice Kachang. This is an extremely popular dish in South asian and although a bit pricey ($5, where it would probably be about $2 in Singapore), it was absolutely delicious!

O Bai Tan BBQ Korean Restaurant

O Bai Tan BBQ Korean Restaurant

Location: 363A Pitt St, Sydney NSW 2000

On a cold rainy night out after uni, my friends and I were on the lookout for something both filling and satisfying. It was a friend's birthday as well, making the occasion that much more special. We decided to go to O Bai Tan BBQ Korean Restaurant, a well hidden korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant. This place came highly recommended and we were all starving!

When we finally found the place, the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. The staff were helpful, patient and attentive. We were stetted on two large tables to accommodate 12 people. On each table, you can choose to either barbecue your own meat or have Korean hot pot. We did both.

First we tried the Korean hot pot. It was what you would expect from a hot pot. Lots of delicious noodles, vegetables and meat. The sauce was a little sweet and very pleasant. Hot pot is highly recommended when you have to feed many people. We ordered the traditional hot pot, however there were many choices, such as seafood and meat.

Then we proceeded to have Korean BBQ. This is where there is a fire lighted in front of you, and you order different meats to cook yourself on this BBQ. We ordered assorted meats including raw beef and pork. We also ordered marinated beef, pork, chicken and prawns. I would highly suggest the marinated option as ordering only raw meat can be a little bland after your third mouthful.

Overall the experience was very enjoyable, however the BBQ took a lot of work. You will need someone to constantly look over the meat, turning the meat, and making sure the meat was cooked to everyone's preference. It is important that meats such as chicken have NO pink or uncooked portions, otherwise one might get a bad case of salmonella poisoning.

Pricing: Around $30-$50 per head (depending on how much meat and/or hot pot you order)

I would recommend this restaurant for large groups.

The Tan Viet Noodle House in Cabramatta

Today, I want to recommend a very cheap but very tasty restaurant in Sydney. This restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant that names " Tan Viet Noodle House". " Tan viet Noodle House" locates at 3/100 John Street in Cabramatta. However, the envirnment of this restaurant is not good. Because the cost of their food is very cheap and amount of their foods is very large. You can make the dicision that have a try or not .
I like this restaurant, because I like spicy food.

Then I post some pictures about foods in "Tan Viet Noodle House".
The most important and famous food of all Vietnamese restaurant is Vietnamese's Vermicelli with beef. Obviously, it's good and tasty for the people who like the spicy food. The most important thing for eating this dish is the soup. If you cannot eat all foods in this dish, you must finish all soup in it. Because the soup is best thing of all. However, if you don't like spicy food, this dish is bad for you.

This one is another famous dish in "Tan Viet Noodle House" that names Chrispy Chicken with Tomato Rice. This one is not spicy, and the flavour of this dish is a little sour and sweet from the tomato. The chicken in this dish will not be greasy, and the skin of these chicken is very crisp. People will like and enjoy to eat them. Therefore, if you don;t like spicy food, this dish is good and tasty for you.

On the other hand, almost all dishes in this restaurant will not cost over 10 dollars. So if you want to find some restaurants to have lunch, this restaurant is the best choice for you.

The Chat Thai in townhall

Chat Thai is a famous Thai restaurant in Sydney. This restaurant has 3 branches in Sydney, they locate at 29 Station Street in Hornsby, 2/33 South Steyne and   20 Campbell Street. I like the Campbell street one, because it locates on the 5 level of Westfield in Townhall. It's easy to find .And some other dilicious foods and restaurants are nearly to this one, such as the Chocolate Bar and Laduree from Paris. There has no doubt that the envirnment, traffic and service of this restaurant are high-class. For my opinion, Chat Thai is the best Thai restaurant in Sydney.

Then I post some pictures about some tasty food in this restaurant.
This image show the dish that cooks shrimps with Thailand's ground rice and water spinach. The sauce of this dish is sweet and sour sauce. People need to eat all shrimps first, then mix the ground rice and water spinach thoroughly with the sauce. Promise you, you would not regret to taste this dish.

This dish has a famous name that is Thailand's variety of chicken. The rice of this dish is very special, because all the rices need to mix thoroughly with lard. Therefore people would feel fragrant and tempting. On the other hand, the chicken in this dish need to be fresh and tender. If you don't have enough time to eat all the tasty foods in Chai Thai, you can choose this one. Because it's convenient and particular.

This is the last dish I want to share to you. Don't be worry that this one is also include the shrimps. Because most famous foods in Thailand involve shrimps. And the flavour and method of shrimps are different. This one use the soy sauce to cook shrimps and fry up some eggplant's cakes around these shrimps. I think this dish would be the most popular dish at all. Because all of my friends like it.

Chai Thai restaurant waits for your visit.

Mr Han's Traditional Restaurant in Eastwood

Yesterday, I recommended a Japanese restaurant to you. Today, I attempt to recommend an other best Asian restaurant. Mr Han's traditional restaurant is a famous chinese restaurant in Sydney. Too much chinese people give their best evaluation to this restaurant. It locates at 261 Rowe Street  Eastwood, and you can go to there by the train, buses and car. For this restaurant, I advice people to go with their family, because you will get a happy and warm family day.

Then, I want to post some pictures about some foods I tried in this restaurant.

These two are hot foods of this restaurant. You can image that how special and how amazing of these foods by just seeing the picture. The top one is the roast mutton chop, the taste of it will not feel some taint of sheep. And they use a special sauce to roast meat, people cannot stop to eat them until it becomes empty.  The second one food is "meat with eggs". I promise that you have no possibility to taste this dish except going to this restaurant. It's so special and amzing. I have no idea how they do and finish this dish. Obviously, They are genius.

This dish is the best cold dish of this restaurant. This dish involves potato silks, cucumbers and other vegetables. This cold dish is spicy, they add some local banana to dress these vegetables. I like spicy food, I also think this dish is special too.

If you like the special and amazing things, you cannot miss this restarant.

The Gumshara in China town

Yesterday is good Friday, most people would go out and have dinner with their friends or family. I'm a member of these people. Yesterday, my friends and I went to a Japanese restuarant named "Gumshara". It locates at 536 Crown Street, Surry Hills.  This restuarant is famous for the stretched noodles and chafing dish.  My friends were attracted by the picture of the chafing dish on the menu, so we order the chafing dish, Huhnkotelette and shrimps.

First, I will show the pictures about all dilicious foods in this restuarant.
For my opinion, I like the chafing dish above all. Because the soup of this chafing dish is very dense. All the foods in it are very tasty. I like the tofu and vegetables best. Because the Japaneses tofu is special and tender than others. The vegetables combine the flavour of both soup and themselves. In addition, you can chose some sauces, such as spicy, teriyaki and so on. I like the spicy sauce, because I'm from ChengDu. However all other friends like the teriyaki sauce, because they think it's the exclusive sauce of Japanese restuarant. Whatever, you can taste both of them and choose one you like.
On the other hand, the Huhnkotelette and shrimps are also good for us. Maybe you can choose the  stretched noodles when you come there, because everybody knows that Japanese noodle is special and attractive.
However the envirnment of this restuarant is not good, because the space of this restuarant is too small. I hope you can accept.
Waiting for your visit and judge.

Palm Breeze in Burwood

I'm a regular at Palm Breeze Cafe in Burwood mostly during weeknight since it is my favourite local restaurant. On weeknights I come to dinner with some friends and have always found the weekly experiences to be mostly enjoyable due to the great service given by the employees. As soon as we walk in we are shown to our booths at the back of the cafe and menus are promptly delivered. The staff is very friendly; when we arrive to our table water is promptly served, with the menus. The menu has a variety of different food to choose from such as burgers, pasta, chicken, steak and salads. The below picture displays an image of the cafe, as you can see it isn’t seen as a high end restaurant however as your everyday local cafe.

On a weekly basis you can never go wrong with tomato bruschetta for the entree and then comes a medium to well done T-bone steak with chips and salad on the side. The below picture displays my meal.

It’s definitely worth a visit!

The Pancake on the Rocks in Sydney

Today, I'm happy to share a favourate restaurant in Sydney and name of this restaurant is "Pancake on the Rocks". There are four branches in the Sydney which locate at Harbourside Shopping Centre,The Rocks/4 Hickson Road,3 George Street, North Strathfield  and Shop 3/4 Hyde Parade, Campbelltown . My friends and I went to the George street one.
First, I want to show some beautiful and attractive pictures about some foods we tasted in this restuarant.

This picture shows two different types of the pancake, the shorter one is the "banana and chocolate" and the larger one is "chocolate with the strawberry". For my opinion, I like the strawberry one more than another, because I feel the savoury and mellow from that ice cream and chocolate seriflux. However, a boy of my friends like the banana one. He said that that pancake is sweet but not greasy. There are some tother types of the pancack, such as the "wine with chocolate", the "mango with vanilla" and so on. So you can chose what you like and what you interested in. By the way, the amount of the pancack is alrge, so one pancack is enough to two person. Please don't order too much than you can eat.

After ate the pancacks, we wanted to have some main dishes. Then we order the beefsteak, pork chop and vegetable salad. The vegetable salad of this restuarant is very fresh and cute. It absorbs the oil from other foods. From this picture, you can see that the amount of beefsteak and the pork chop are also large and enough to two person. The quality of these meat is tender, soft and tasty.  I promise that the taste of these two dishes are dilicious and palatable. And the chips are very crisp. All of us like these dishes and we ate them empty.

Then my friends and I finished this dinner, we all feel so happy and beatific. This great meal just cost $20 dollar of each person.I think it's worthwhile. Of course the taste of the food is not only criterion of a restuarant. It also includes the envirnment, the service and the traffic. The envirnment of this restuarant is good, because the space for each table is large and comfortable. Thus people can communicate with others in a suitable and unworried condition. They don't need to worry about troubling other customers.
In addtion, the service of this restuarant is also good. The waiter will add water between 5 minutes and the speed of this restuarant is quick.

Therefore, "Pancack on the Rocks" is a very good reastuarant, and it's worth to recommend to others.
